May 2008 - Wedding Shower Cake

This cake was my biggest challenge to date!
This was for a friend who was hosting a wedding shower. She wanted "pink and happy" and enough to feed 50 people. This is what I came up with.
This is two double layers covered in fondant and shimmer dust. The flowers, hearts and curlies are made from gumpaste and fondant.

April 2008 - Wrestling Cake

This cake was made for a friend's son's WWF sleepover party. This one took some time as I've never seen wrestling so I had to do some research.

I downloaded the WWF template and duplicated it with chocolate for the top. The corner posts are Pepperidge Farms cookies that I covered in chocolate. The stars on the sides are also chocolate pieces that I made.

March 2008 - Eliza's cake

This cake was made in March for my niece's 6th birthday.
She's a little girlie-girl and wanted a ballet themed cake. This is three-tiered with chocolate ballet slippers that I made.

February 2008 - Valentines Day

This cake was for practice and play. I took it to work and it was demolished!

February 2008

This simple cake was for my sister-in-law.

January 08 - Brook's birthday

These cakes were for my niece's 6th birthday. As you can see she wanted a High School Musical theme. The musical note pieces are made of chocolate and the picture of the HSM kids is an edible image.

January 2008 - Mom's birthday cake

Jan '08 - This was my first decorated cake. It's a two-layer cake with basketweave, shells and rope. I certainly bit off more than I could chew on this first real attempt to decorate a cake, but all-in-all it came out pretty well.
